Focusing on real-world application skills, this course was extremely valuable in providing speakers from various backgrounds and experiences a chance to talk with the student body about what life looks like after college. Through this I was able to create a new business card and work on my pitching skills for potential job interviews, this time focusing on tech internships rather than pure creative. One of the most impactful moments of the course however was when a UX/UI designer came to speak about her experience and what led her to her current career, focusing on the importance of preparation and a desire and willingness to learn. Additionally, having influencers and bloggers who did not adhere to a traditional job search and work environment was highly encouraging to listen to, showing the importance of individualized content creation and, above all else, the importance of advocating for your own skill sets.
